CHURCH PLANTING MISSIONARIES TO CHINA

Please pray for Chengrong (Bob), the watch repairman who works close to the church. I’ve played chess with him many times and even went with him to play ping pong with some of his buddies once. A couple of weeks ago, the Lord blessed and allowed me a good half hour of Bob’s undivided attention as I explained the gospel. This was a blessing because recently he has been more prone to redirect the conversation when Christ is mentioned. Please pray the Lord would soften his heart toward Christ and save him. Bob, like so many here, thinks little if ever about spiritual and eternal things. He is focused on work and passing the day and doesn’t care to give thought to what happens beyond death. As I bring up these things, he listens to be polite and is then quick to change the subject or simply pull out his phone and begin swiping through videos as soon as the chance arises. Pray that the Lord would give me the wisdom and boldness needed to persist with telling Bob of God’s grace in Christ.

The Saturday before Thanksgiving, we had a great turnout to English Corner. About half of those who came were with us for the first time. We talked about Thanksgiving, how it is celebrated in America and talked about how we give thanks to God for his blessings in our lives. I shared the gospel, and we ate a meal together with chicken instead of turkey. In the weeks following Thanksgiving, we’ve continued sharing the gospel with these folks each week at English Corner. So far, most are still cold to the Bible. Please pray they would join us for church and that the Lord would save them.

I have requested prayer for my friend Tujian (Tony) before. We have recently been able to spend more time together, and he is very open to talk to me about the Bible and share with me some issues going on in his life. He surprised me recently by finding a video online of a man sharing his salvation testimony and sending the video to me to ask me my thoughts about what he said. The man in the video came from a rough family background, something that Tony identifies with. Please pray the Lord would give me wisdom and grace as I share with how the Lord Jesus is mighty and able to save, reconcile and restore.

Prayer Requests

Ø  Pray for the salvation of Zhang (John), Tujian (Tony), Mike, Dexuan (Dustin), Zhu (Justin), Zicheng (Zachary), Haoxuan (Howard), Xibin (Don), and Chengrong (Bob).

Ø  Pray for opportunities to share the gospel and study the Bible with people.

Ø  Pray that people would join us for church.

Ø  Pray for the June 2024 Goforth China Tour.

Ø  Pray the Lord would raise up and send forth more laborers into His harvest field.
